Many historical sites and museum are mainly visited by tourist, not local people, why is this the case? What can be done to attract local people to visit this historical sites and museum

It is true that historical places and museums are crowded mostly with tourists rather than local people. There can be many reasons but cause of this happening is less interest of public towards their own. country's heritage The foremost reason behind less concerned about tourists sites is because they were already visited their in past. To be precise, natives are already familiar to their local areas and tourist places, so they are lethargic about nearby historical sites. Another reason would be the curiosity to explore new places by travelling around the various new destinations more specifically, mankind is tend to believe in travelling historical places and galleries of other counties as they are not aware about their history and also some of the ancient facts about that country. On the other including history as a subject would be the reason for careless and avoidance of heritage and historical sculpture due to early realisation of history of the one's own country. Government should take steps to attract local residents. Firstly, authorities should given for preservation and maintaining the country's heritage sites to local people to some extent, so that they will connect themselves with cultural and heritage sites. Also steps should taken to lower the sites visit fees and charges as natives are earning and paying in domestic currency which is not suitable for each class of public particularly in a developing country like India. Government should organise expo for college going young students which results in choosing courses like archaeology and tourism. In conclusion, although local people were not interested in visiting their own country's historical places and museum, efforts should be taken by government to upgrade working and maintaining of this sites and places also they should encourage young generation by lowering charge of this places and by freeing the entry for youngster.
