It is difficult to overlook the fact that we live in a reality that is dominated by the various forms of technology. I constantly feel fortunate to have been experiencing a timeline in world history where computer science is the root of all development and innovation that I see around me. Considering the fact how electronic information is changing the way we live and work, it has prompted me to engage myself in education wherein I can study and become well-informed about the specialties of Computer Science and every aspect that exists in its orbit. Therefore, I am excited about getting an opportunity at York University to partake in the Bachelor of Computer Science program. Computer Science continues to be my favorite subject ever since I was formally introduced to it when I was in Class 8. Of course, at the time the information dissemination and learning were very technical. But, it did have an impact on me. Consequently, I came to know about the Internet and it opened up my world even more. I spent a good amount of time sitting at the computer and browsing through websites – especially YouTube. I feel proud that I used YouTube to grow my awareness of Computer Science. Technical as it may be, I believe that when you “see” information, it organically generates better registration and impact. I warmed up to different programming languages, scripts, software types, kinds of hardware and their uses. With each passing day, I realized that Computer Science is a discipline that I want to convert into my comfort zone. Having completed my schooling, I reckon both by passion and performance, I have the goods that would help me to find my footing in the undergraduate program. In addition to the rigors of core academics, I also devoted time to improving my learning curve by participating in online courses in Java, Python, and Machine Learning to enhance my relevance and suitability for the field. Although the aforesaid efforts were self-initiated, I realize their importance now as I am preparing to go abroad for my higher studies. I have decided to go to Canada for my undergrad studies because it is highly-recognized for its bent in matter of computer, technology, and innovation. To be able to study in an international University will not only cause me to insert myself in an all-new learning environment; it will also give me access to a much-advanced curriculum that will help me cultivate more interests in and around the field of Computer Science. I am sure that there is a lot of knowledge and skill that I am yet to learn about. In the face of the rapid developments that are taking place in Computer Science, I am confident that pursuing an international study experience will equip me with an improved brand of intellect and application. Eventually, years down the line, my knowledge acquisition, upskilling, and the fact that I have an internationally-accredited Bachelor’s degree will put me in a good place to start my career in my homeland. Advanced techniques and practical curriculum will give me headstart when I return to India to join an Ed-Tech company. In the long run I aspire to build my own ed-tech start-up as I foresee online platform is the future of Global Education, especially for those who cannot afford travel to foreign countries. Through my start up I also plan to make education facilities more approachable for the population living in remote villages of India so that my country can have more literate manpower. My grandmother, the head of my joint family, is going to sponsor my education and stay in Canada. If required, my paternal uncle will also provide financial help. With their blessings and support, I wish to complete my program and return as soon as possible to be by their side. So I now request a study permit to get the opportunity to refine my potential for my goals and make a difference with my expertise and contributions.
