It is suggested that all young adults should undertake a period of unpaid work helping in the community. Does it bring more benefits or drawbacks to the community and young people? 6pd0l
In today's world, society is more and more developing as a result of chasing materialism by seeking for a high-paid job. It is suggested that all young adults should undertake social work to help people in the community. Despite some obvious disadvantages of this trend, I believe that these are outweighed by the advantages. On the one hand, there are a number of major benefits when helping people without thinking of money. The first beneficial point is strongly developing interpersonal and soft skills such as communicating or solving problems instead of concentrating on how to make much money. To illustrate, they could learn the strength of teamwork by organizing events, boost their communication skills through interacting with their patterns in various socio-economic majors and especially experience useful vocational skills involving in their profession. Another positive effect is helping young people gain spiritual value in the absence of money for charitable work. The young adults of today become the leaders and innovators of tomorrow. As a consequence, if they help others in need voluntarily, they will understand the true value that money is not everything. When it comes to the community, a large number of labor forces are provided so as to bring peace to the needy people in remote or mountainous regions. To cite an example, for poor families, they are unable to bring their children to schools due to high fees, therefore, these volunteers can free teaching to enhance their knowledge. Conversely, young people must challenge some of its downsides. They face challenges such as a lack of time for their future prospects. Particularly, in terms of college students, they do not spend much time on their educational curriculums, which leads to distracting or ignoring them from their later professions. Meanwhile, middle-age workforces are too dependent on the youth to work. Fortunately, this happens in a minority of them. In conclusion, although there are some upsides associated with this proposal, I would firmly argue that young people should involve in paid free work to support the others in need in the society would bring more benefits than drawbacks for both the community and young generations.
