Nowadays the use of mail or post to send handwritten letters has reduced drastically as compared to the 20th century. This essay will discuss the various factors that have resulted in this situation and its effect on the future generation.
The decrease in the use of the post to send handwritten emails are due to many reasons. Firstly, sending a message through an email or phone is much faster than sending it through a post. Due to the advancement of technology, people can send a message rapidly through a click rather than waiting a week to get the letter delivered. Secondly, nowadays it is possible to convey information to a person who is traveling. Whereas in the case of post or mail, a letter could only be sent to a particular address. Finally, in the case of handwritten letters, a large number of papers are utilized which in turn leads to the cutting of trees. However, modern technology has reduced the dependency on papers such that the rate of deforestation has decreased.
Even though there are a lot of benefits, the loss of post or mail will have a negative impact on the future generation. First, the younger generation will not have much knowledge about the post or mail services such that this culture will be lost in the future. Second, children usually develop their cognitive skills through writing. Therefore, if the culture of writing letters is lost, it would affect the children’s development.
In conclusion, the use of post and mail to send messages has decreased in the present day as compared to the 20th century due to development in technology and many other reasons. However, it is also important to conserve this culture, so that the future generation can benefit from this knowledge.
