Is the growth of technology really helpful for us? Or is it a doom waiting on catching us with its intelligence?

Is the growth of technology really helpful for us? Or is it a doom waiting on catching us with its intelligence? m0E3n
Life of the humankind has been changed dramatically since the happening of industrial revolution. Ever growing technical abilities that we achieved throughout past two hundred years, made us dive into addictive consumerism. Today, we use a lot of these technological appliances every single day, and we need them to stay working so that we can have our work, education, financial and social stability and even mental health. We take these devices and applications for granted, but in a second, they can be out and we will lose our modern and tidy lives all at once. We use electricity and turn it into intelligence. We drill oil and magically make hot showers out of it. We even gather sun’s energy and save it in batteries so we can check our emails on the go. The sheer amount of possibilities that we have today for easing our lives, was never even imagined before. The standard of living has been increased exponentially- at least in developed countries. Our changing life style has changed us into dull unthinking consimers. This ever changing life style that we are experiencing can be harmful for our home, the Earth and it had its toll on our bodies and minds as well. We are deeply dependent and addicted to such technologies, and we are even helping them to evolve into bigger impacts on our lives, by consuming and using them more often and more broadly in our homes and offices. We are in the verge of jumping into the artificial intelligence era, and we will surely use the results of its birth in our daily lives soon. In conclusion, it is alarmingly dangerous to step into a deeper layer of consumerism without thinking through the vast amount of problems that it may cause. Rational social planners and benevolent governors should gather around and have a lot of thinking about the boundaries of the usage of AI and its impact on socio-economic situation of poor countries.
