Intership Summer Schoolship
Intership Summer Schoolship l1BpD
Hi, my name is Ayşe. I am 21 years old. I am studying the biology department at Ege University. I am applying to this program in Turkey.
The reason why I want to participate in the Max Planck Summer Internship Program is that I need it. I need the explore more, see other laboratories, work with different people in a different country. I want to push myself, go out of my comfort line and most importantly I want to see with my own eyes the value given to science because, in my country, there are millions of brilliant scientists though the are no materiality to support them or no high capacity labs for researchers and for that I feel desperate about my future. Nowadays, I am asking myself those questions: yes, you are falling in love with your department that is why you chose for studying it but do you think you can find a job and be able to live your life after graduation? May you be a scientist who does useful work for our world as your dream? I am deadlocked in my head. I have to let go of those thoughts and have to prove to myself my labours are valuable, they are not insignificant. At this point, I think Max Planck Institute might guide and give me an opportunity.
Also, the main reason is I have never been abroad before so I have never had a chance to meet different cultures. As I mentioned before, I want to explore them. I can interact with people with this program. Hereby, I may improve my language too. The fundamental idea, I may improve 'myself'. I might have a more wide viewpoint. This is so much significant for me.
Secondly, what do I expect from my stay in Munich? To be honest with you, it is so simple. Maybe you can not imagine how important it is for me but staying two months in Munich means a lot to me. Because I will experience to lots of new things. I will learn by experience and this is how amazing.
Finally, what do I think, I could contribute? I think I can be very helpful to my group. I am not claiming I always know what I will do. I am still a student, I am still in the learning phase. Unquestionably, I can not compete with your wisdom, knowledge and practice. I am aware of that. That is exactly why I want to be in this program so much. I am so honoured to learn from you. I am a very ambitious, hardworking person. I always work hard for my achievements or things that I want in my life. And with my motivation, I can always help and cheer up you. I have good communication skills which are why I am a total team player. And I think this is quite important.
In addition, you can give a lot of things to me but I am not a basic person. You should consider the things I contribute too. I hope you will give me this opportunity and I can join your family. I wish health to you.
Sincerely yours,
Ayşe ÇARŞANLI
