Nowadays the way many people interact with each other has changed because of technology. In what ways has technology affected personal relationships? Has this become a positive or negative development?

Due to advancement of technology, people have access to various mediums to communicate with each other. This has a drastic impact on the types of relationship and the ways people converse with each other. On the one hand, the development of technology has contributed a lot in the enhancement of bonding among the people; on the other hand, it has adversely affected many relationships. There are numerous ways through which people interact with each other. People can easily contact their friends or relatives in a fraction of a second with the use of internet. This has increased the number of relationships people make, whether it is personal or business. On a daily basis / on a regular basis people can send text messages, videos, photographs and other information through Skype, Whatsapp, Facebook, Twitter etc. Moreover, business people can make a conference call or meeting through internet rather than visiting personally and wasting their precious time. Considering all of the above advantages, in my opinion, technology has contributed positively for the overall development of the economy of many countries. Nonetheless, technology has also had many adverse effects on relationships. There are chances that some people may misuse some of the important personal and business information. This is generally possible when people acquaint others over the internet rather than through personal meetings. To conclude, technology has indeed brought about / caused many remarkable changes in the way people interact. Even though its impact is generally positive, we need to be extra careful while dealing with people over the internet.
