Individual greed and selfishness have been the basis of the modern society. Some people think that we must return to the older and more traditional values of respect for the family and the local community in order to create a better world to live in.

In today's high-tech era, a number of people have become greedy and selfish, and that has been the basis of modern society. However, there is a group of people who believe that we created a better world for the family and the local community, so we have to return to the older and more traditional values of respect. I partially agree with this statement, which comes prior to my bullet point in the following paragraphs. On the one hand, there are a number of reasons why more and more people are becoming greedy and selfish. First and foremost, when older people retire from their work and cannot earn money, young people tend to stop respecting them at the same time. As an example, there are a number of children who are not able to spend a large amount of time with their families. However, they do concentrate on their significant work. Therefore, children have become more selfish. There is one solution that children should focus on for their families as well as their work to return to the older and more traditional form of respect. Moreover, they should not be selfish themselves.  On the other hand, there are some positive effects. First of all, people should identify with our old heritage. For instance, people have the habit of learning about the arts as well as harmony. Secondly, they should show respect to elderly people, appropriately. This has been going on since the dawn of civilization. As a result, it has an impact on people and helps them distinguish between what is good and what is bad. Furthermore, it can easily return to the older and traditional culture. To conclude, traditional culture plays an essential role in people's lives. I personally believe that it must return and show good behaviour against older people.
