crime is an anti social activity which is neither expected by society by law. It is observed that the number of juveniles committing serious crime is on the rise. some individuals think that teenagers committing heinous crimes should receive the same trial as adults. I fully agree with this view. In my opinion, teenagers offenders are treated like adults and given the same punishment, it will be also a lesson for other teens contemplating a crime. This essay will discussed in upcoming paragraphs. First of all, the age of the offender is irrelevant in the case of grave crimes such as murder or rap. Likewise, most of the teenagers these days are not afraid of consequences of their act, since, most of the states currently protect them under the child protection law and give them only light punishment. To give an example, 20% of community service for 6 months or put in rehabilitation centre's for just a year for misdeeds like robbery. Juveniles committing major offences are also treated rather leniently. As a matter of fact, this sends the wrong message and encourage more teens to commit crime. Secondly, if a child is old enough to commit a heinous crime, he should definitely by considered old enough to be punished as well. This is vital to reduce the number of repact crime in order to by these inhabitants. For example, according to the survey by the Harvard University, 50% of crime has been committed by teenagers. The reason is that they spend most of the time with their adults, correspondingly, they also treated by their young ones. In conclusion, the problem of growing juvenile crime can only tackled by awarding them punishment in accordance with the gravity of the offence that they committed.
