Public celebrations (such as national days, festivals, etc.) are held in most countries. These are often quite expensive and some people say that governments should spend money on more useful things. Do you agree or disagree?

Every country has its national day, festivals, etc. celebrated every year. In my municipality, we also held in this day. I like this tradition but in my opinion, the way how we and also many other countries celebrate it is wrong and it wastes a lot of money. Toward this event society’s mind is separated into two-part: ones think that it is important for the country and we must celebrate it and others say that government should spend money on more useful things and I agree with this view. First of all, these days there are not something important activities, all kind of concerts organized by the government are old-fashioned. For youth, it is dull events. Everything needs a huge amount of money, which government can use for more useful things, like helping poor and homeless people, the family where live a lot of children, etc. Additionally, I do not say that we must not celebrate this kind of event, of course, we do it, but in another way with interesting activities and important actions, which does not cost very much. To sum up, I want to say that this kind of event helps society to gather together and it is really important for conversation. But everything has another side and this is linked to money which we can use for more essential things. because of it, I think that we do not need such an expensive event in a poor country where are other important needs for people.
