In some countries, it is usual for young people who graduate from high school to spend a year working or travelling before going to university. What are the advantages and disadvantages for young people who decide to do this? Wg0XK
It is the case that graduated students who finished their time from high school believe that it is beneficial for them to have a year off for finding a job or travelling before going to college. While there are some benefits related to this matter, I think that the drawbacks are much greater.
On the one hand, there are some advantages in relation to students who want a gap year. The first obvious strength is they could gain a lot of experience from finding a job as well as working. One of good examples of this is that they can have a knowledge about the labor market and the working environment. Another clear benefit is that young people can learn more about the culture of the traveling destinations. In other work, there are a great deal of western students who come to Viet Nam as well as Asian country for holiday after they finish their high school. They can try a lot of local food and gain insight into the culture of the destination country.
On the other hand, I think that there have more drawbacks than benefits. To begin with, Students will have a negative thinking about going to university. This is mainly because they work and travel for a long time so they do not think going to college is a good idea. When they are off for working, they can earn money and can use that on their personal purpose. But They do not know that if they have degree from the university then they can earn more money later on.
In conclusion, although there are a number of benefits related to this matter, I would argue that the drawbacks are more significant.
