in order to be truly emplyable, the educated person should be able to demstrate not just knowledge but also the ability to work indepentdently in teams. How can teamwork best be encouraged and assessed in educational settings?

Nowadays, employment demanded a high degree of either knowledge or teamwork skills. For this reason, various actions should be taken to evaluate and enhance teamwork skills. First of all, students should be required to work as a team on school projects. For instance, the class is divided into 4 groups, and each group is assigned a research project investigating aspects of local history. Working as a group could have many advantages to the students such as improving communication skills, teamwork skills and their knowledge about historical data of their country. However, there are also some drawback while working as a group: teachers would find it hard to have a close look at each student's contribution to their group and some projects will be of poor quality. In order to enhance teamwork skills, teachers should also monitor and assess students work through examinations. In addition, the group with the best result should be awarded and praised as compliments make people happy and it also increase student's activeness in their group. On the other hand, students may have peer pressure as their coworker do better than them, and progressively lose their interest in group working as a result. To sum up, teamwork should be taught and assessed but it must be done in a right way.
