In many countries, women are now able to join the armed forces on an equal basis. However, some people think only men should be members of the army, navy or air force. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

In recent times, gender equality in employment has been a hot debated issue. While someone argue that women are less suited for the armed forces than men, I believe that female candidates should be treated the same as their male counterparts.
Firstly, women have all the capabilities and talents to partake in defending their nation like men. Compared to men, women are more resourceful, thoughtful and meticulous. These innate qualities make them suitable for military logistics such as medical and health service support. Throughout human history, females have made notable contributions to the victory of those in the frontlines. For examples, Harriet Tubman and Mary Walker had served in the Civil War as nurses, spies and even soldiers disguised as males. As countries wish to build mighty armies, they put more emphasis on logistics; therefore females are predicted to play a vital role in military.
Following this, women can fully meet the requirements of the military. Females can be considered as the weaker sex since they face certain limitations in terms of physical health. However, warfare now steadily depends on state-of-the-art technology rather than muscular strength as it was previously. This put them at par with males for joining the defence academy. Vietnamese women in the feudal society stood up to lead the national liberation uprising including Hai Ba Trung, which was the first uprising of the Au Lac people. Women here demonstrated a comprehensive leadership role and promoted their qualities and capacities.
In conclusion, although some say that women are incompatible with army duties, I think that they should be free to join the army. This is because they are the most powerful beings in the world and they should be given every opportunity to take up space and follow their passion.
