In many countries, people are now living than ever before, some people say the aging population creates problems for the government, others think there are benefits if a society has more elderly individuals. To what extent do the advantages of having elderly individuals outweighs the disadvantages

Many people believed that the elderly population are being problematic to the government while others think it is of society benefits to have the aged. Although, the aged are seen to be more knowledgeable, experienced and role model to the younger generation, it is also demanding in terms of finance in taking care of their needs. I am of the opinion that the benefits outweighs the negative impact in the society. To begin with, elderly individuals are experts in their field of specialty, they are also mentors the younge stars. They children therefore, look up them in some life hacks and advises, younger colleagues run back to the older people for difficulties because, they are professionals. They have gone through those phases and can explain better. For instance, growing up, I looked up to my grandmother that is a professor in science, i really wanted to be like her. She achieved so much in life and most of her advises are always successful. It is of utmost important to have older people in the society. Furthermore, the hospital bills of the aged individuals are sometimes overwhelming on the government. Most of them can not carry out activities of daily living and are solely dependent on others. Example, in some developing countries where too many developments is required such as building of schools, recreational centers, industries even construction of major roads, adding the funds of the aged will be a handful. In conclusion, the elderly are been seen as borden to the government according to some people Meanwhile others argue that it is beneficial, despite these aged persons are regard as role models to the younger people, it is also exhausting taking care of their medical bill and overall well-being. I completely agree they are very important in the society compared to the disadvantages.
