Overall, it can be observe that this species prefers living in different kinds of places according to their growth for different time periods. Firstly, the adult Solomon of about 70 to 76 cm, which lives in open sea travels to Upper River for laying eggs. As this place is slow moving, they lay their eggs among the small stones behind reeds for protection. Subsequently, these eggs takes approximately 5 to 6 months to crack open and tiny fry of around 3 to 8 cm comes out. Secondly, these fry species moves towards Lower River which is fast flowing with falls and a heavy water flow. Further, they stay there for approximately 4 years and turn into smolt, which is the second stage of their growth and results in around 12 to 15 cm. Third stage of their life cycle is migrating to an open sea, where they completely transform into an adult Salmon fish. To add on, they live here for approximately 5 years and then go back to the upper river side to breed eggs. Thus, their life cycle rotates.
