The given bar chart illustrates the percentage of men and women in a variety of jobs in the UK in the year of 2005.
It can easily be seen that male tended to be attracted to managerial occupations like skilled trades or managers and senior officials while not mainly focusing on personal service or administrative and secretarial. Meanwhile, women took up a great percentage in administrative and secretarial areas while not quite being attracted to plant and machine operatives.
Men appeared to become the majority compared to women in managerial jobs like skill trades for 20% of the workforce or about 18% in senior officials. In other areas such as professional, associate and technical or elementary, men took up between 12 to 15 percent of the workers. Meanwhile, men did not mainly focus on personal service which was 5% of the workforce.
On the other hand, women mostly took part in personal service and administrative jobs. While in other kinds of occupation except for skilled trades or plant and machine operative which only contained about 5% of the contribution from employees that were women, females took approximately 12% of the number of workers.
