I have lived in Ha Noi for almost 3 years, its a wonderful and lovely city. Unfortunately, the traffic here isnt like that.
There are thousands of vehicles of all kinds in this city all day. That is the reason why traffic jams happen everyday, one can be stuck in the traffic for hours during rush hours, may cause some accident, anything bad all happen here. Another reasons cause traffic jams are the road users dont obey the traffic rules, the road quality are horrible, driving after drinking alcoholic drinks or don’t wear helmet. However, traffic accidents and congestion need not to be a necessary evil. Something can be done to reduce them, upgrade the road, more public transport, and the most important is educate people about this by articles on newspaper, television or lessons at school.
To summarise, it’s a really serious problem that a plethora of huge society and VN must deal with, but I believe that raising people’s awareness and promoting the use of public transport systems, will contribute to maintaining road safety.
