HOW IS THE OVERUSE OF DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY AFFECT US 3GRxl
As digital technology developed, our lives become a lot easier. Now, we can communicate with each other miles apart, entertain ourselves with numerous content, do our shopping in a few clicks and it is on our door the day after. Digital technology has an undeniably big impact on our lives and this makes us more dependent on it. I believe that digital technology is something that we can't give up on. However, in today's world digital technology makes more harm than good.
We all know that digital technology is bad for us on the contrary not everyone is aware of how exactly it is bad. First of all, digital technology has both psychological and physical negative influences on us. When we examine addicted people, we see sleeping problems, poor posture, eyestrain, hearing problems, and a lot more. Moreover these kinda problems aren't the only bad impact on society. Society is becoming increasingly impatient and impersonal with interactions. Those types of behaviors create loneliness in our lives despite our “constant connection” with others through things like cell phones. This way of life is also more common among the younger generations.
The new age that was born into the period of digital technology has also been the one affected the most. During young children’s development to adulthood, they are often at times exposed to technology such as iPad, phones, and computers early in life. This constant exposure to those devices can affect their brains on a level that can rewire their thinking. That rewiring of the brain can cause their attention span and focus to be decreased. Studies show that half of children ages 10 to 12 and one-third of ages 7-9 use social media.
On a wider scale, we must restrict our and our children's screen time for more quality and healthy life, we should exercise more, meet more often with the people we want to chat with, find new hobbies to spend time more efficiently to stay away from digital technologies much as possible to avoid addiction and the problems that come with it.
To conclude we can’t ignore the benefits of digital technology but technology addiction is a very serious problem worldwide, especially among children and teens. We need to get our precautions before it is too late.
