He believed in the importance of diet and exercise. He was interested in the health of the body. Also, one of the most important things that Hippocrates brought to medicine was his separation of medicine from philosophy. Hippocrates built the first school of medicine, and he called it the Medical School. Hippocrates is credited with establishing medicine as a profession. In addition, Hippocrates described many diseases and their treatments. Furthermore, Hippocrates believed that prevention is better than cure, so he suggested that disease was more closely linked to environment and food. He noted that the environment could affect health in both positive and negative ways. To sum up. Hippocrates is considered one of the most outstanding figures in the history of medicine because of his great findings.
