hat is tolerance hy is it important

hat is tolerance hy is it important 6A2rx
Tolerance for me is being respectful of others’ different opinions, values, and beliefs without performing any act of violence in order to change their point of view to match yours. I believe it’s important because without it a community won't be found. I strongly believe that we are so diverse from each other and that everyone has his own personality. If we all became the same person with the same actions it will only lead to destroying society as our differences are the source of innovation and creativity that the community needs to develop. Moreover, Having different opinions is an educational resource for everyone. Think of how would life be if everyone did in fact have the same opinions, for me it would be lifeless and aimless. And, here comes the role of tolerance. Being tolerant of others’ points of view can hugely decrease discrimination, sexism, and many of the social problems that we are facing. It can also decrease the violence and anger that have been spread all over the countries even on social media platforms whenever there is a disagreement in opinions regarding a certain topic. Tolerating other people's opinions doesn’t mean that you agree with them but it shows that you are aware that we are all different people with different opinions. I firmly believe that everyone should have complete free will to express themselves just as long as it doesn’t have any act of violence or harm to others. A Lack of tolerance can be very dangerous it can lead to arguments, revolutions, and even wars in some cases. Having the opportunity to be a participant in the “Building and crossing bridges short course “ which was held by the United world colleges in Belgium did help me express my beliefs and my values which I, unfortunately, couldn’t find here in Egypt. During my stay in the short course, everyone was nearly from different countries and everyone did have a very exotic background but we were all able to fully express ourselves without being judged or shamed. Having the chance to express my feelings and thoughts wasn’t much appreciated in my country which made me very unhappy and lead me to think about a solution. Returning home country I tried my best to create some non-judgmental circles around my family and friends where everyone can express themselves freely, I started with my small circle in order to be able to enlarge it more and more over time. In addition to this, I shared most of the things that I have learned during my stay at the short course with my friends such as the steps of non-violent communication so that they can also pass it on and maybe one day I would experience the same nonjudgmental tolerating community that I felt at the short course but this time at my beloved home country, EGYPT. In conclusion, I learned from this experience how to be proud of yourself and your beliefs even if others don’t show any tolerance, and to cherish our differences and uniqueness. I also learned how to be accepting of others’ perspectives without having to change theirs. Finally, I recognized the lack of tolerance that we are suffering from here in Egypt and I have become more aware of how we can change this phenomenon little by little through awareness.
