Most people in the world need to work in order to lead a decent life or even just to survive. Many workers are motivated by money: if the job pays well, they are willing to do it. However, some people are not concerned with the size of their pay packet: they simply enjoy their job and choose to do it whether they earn a high salary or not. What is more important – salary or job satisfaction? Discuss and give reasons for your answer.

In the modern era, some people think that income is more important than a job that fits your passion, while others believe the opposite. In my opinion, I prefer getting a high-income job more than my passion job. Firstly, modern society values a man with a high-salary job more than a man with great passion. Nowadays, having a high salary equals getting more power in contemporary society. A wealthy paid job person receives much more respect from people around them than a lower-income person. Therefore, their words may have a significant effect on people’s life. For example, there is a survey that asks women if they rather live with a man who works a low-income job and a man with a high salary, and over 80 percent lady choose a wealthy man. Secondly, getting a low salary but satisfying your hobbies may give your more motivation to work. Still, over time, you start to lose your passion due to the down payment from your job, and people do not consider you successful in the career that you choose. For instance, numerous people want to be teachers for their future careers. Still, nowadays, many teachers are getting underpaid for their work, and they are starting to leave the teaching industry and find better-paid jobs to full fill their needs in society. In conclusion, getting a high-paying job is more important than jobs that satisfy your passion. Making money is the only thing that matter in this era after you are considered a successful person, that is when you start working on your passion.
