Every newspaper and news channel on TV is desperate to be first in reporting a story. what is your opinion? yBP
In today’s world of globalization and rapid development media plays a pivotal role in the lives of the people. Every newspaper and news channel on TV is desperate to be first in reporting a story. In this process, visual evidence becomes imperative for the norm to believe any story. Moreover, it provides a transparent idea of the event without complicating the facts. In my opinion, pictures have a favorable impact in a news report rather than just listening or reading a narrative. In particular, myriad of reporters report news every hour, but the one who comes with concrete evidence is provided with an opportunity to telecast or publish the work. Indeed, times have changed wherein media had the liberty to publish news based on rumours. People have not only become smart, but also have the cognizance to not believe a story without a proof. To exemplify this scenario, an Indian actor Sushant hung himself in the year 2020. In order to frame a politician, media had spread rumours and created a fake story around this murder mystery. Later, the media was heavily fined for such a malpractice due lack of evidence. Thus, if there is a proper pictorial evidence of the event, it offers reasoning for the audience to believe. Furthermore, we know that India is a country, there are hundreds f newspapers and news channels. Every individual may not understand the language. Nevertheless, visual representation of the story provides clear illustration of the event. For instance, a pie chart published by the ‘Times of India’ with the picture of finance minister, illustrated the division of budget in March 2021. This represented crystal clear data on the allocation of funds which is easily perceived by even someone who is a beginner in English. Hence, graphics, charts, pictures etc. have the tendency to exemplify plethora of data in a simple way. To summarize, most people believe pictures are crucial for any news story as it is effective. I abide by this thought because it minimizes the chance for the story to be erroneous, it provides clear idea of the event and intricate data can represented with ease.
