In many countries, the importance of education for young people is popular with all citizens. But, there is a group of people who believe that the government should extend the budget spending on education for adult populations who are unable to read or write. From my point of view, I strongly agree with this statement Firstly, the lack of human resources in some countries could be tackled if illiteracy people reduced. In fact, the employment rate can be raised by teaching adults to write and read, therefore, they would be able to access more job opportunities. In addition, a job that does not require too complicated literacy skills such as delivery or taxi driving is suitable for them in order to contribute to society. Secondly, by teaching reading and writing skills to illiteracy people, the standard of living would be raised and the crime rate would be reduced. As a matter of fact, some countries with high crime rates are often the consequences of a lack of education for adults since they have no job to live on. As the result of teaching adult populations to read and write, they will be allowed to make a living so that the criminal rate will reduce followed by the higher quality of life In conclusion, more money should be spent by the government to teach adults literacy skills since they can improve the deficit of human resources in some countries.
