CRIME RATES ARE INCREASING AT ALARM LEVEL. WHAT THE CAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM?

In the competitive area, the living standard is increasing, hence people have to do several things to live on. That is also the reason why the crime rates are rising at an alarming level. This essay will give some causes for this problem Firstly, poverty is one of the main causes which can lead to increasing crime rates at an alarming level. Poverty makes people lack opportunities to acquire knowledge because they do not have enough money to afford formal education. Hence, doing criminal activities is inevitable because lacking education and being poor make people think doing crimes is the easiest way to have money. According to the Guardian, 47% of people who live on by doing criminal activities are living in deprived areas. Secondly, using drugs is the immediate cause which can rise the crime rates. Studies have shown all of the substances, particularly Psilocybin in drugs that can make people out of control. Once the people cannot control themselves, they will do several irrational things including criminal activities. According to the New York Times, there is a boy living in Singapore who is really friendly and elegant. Nonetheless, after drug abuse, he became mentally disabled and committed numerous crimes. In conclusion, there are two causes leading to increasing crime rate which are poverty and using drugs. In my perspective, the government should take into account this daunting problem and take action now to decrease it. Once the crime rates can be declined, the life of residents will be improved.
