On the one hand, organizing international matches helps the countries to improve their economies, this is because there will be a lot of fans coming to watch and cheer on the matches and money will be made from selling tickets, uniforms and so on. This is also an opportunity for foreign fans to come into contact with the country’s culture and thereby they can build international relationships.
On the other hand, the event causes the state to invest a lot of money to serve a large number of audiences from all over the world, it is a big problem for leaders. Furthermore, more people coming to the country means there will be more waste, traffic and environmental problems, and this greatly affects the host country.
In short, there are many benefits from holding a major sporting event but governments should think carefully and figure out how to deal with the harms that come with it.
