Sky train is one of the most modern transportations in Vietnam nowadays. In this essay, I will discuss both pros and cons of this infrastructure in terms of commuting.
On the one hand, there are numerous advantages of sky trains that should be taken. To start with, commuting by sky trains help solve the congestion in urban areas. When this kind of transport is applied, there will be a number of travelers commuting by it, so it will reduce a high number of vehicles in the cities. Moreover, commuting by sky trains is much faster than any vehicles because they have their own overhead tubes. This means commuters will not get stuck, especially in rush hour, so they can save a lot of time. Another benefit of sky train is that it does not cause pollution. Because it does not release gas when operating, it will not do harm to the environment.
On the other hand, there are a few disadvantages of sky train that can not be overlooked. One evident drawback is the huge cost it takes to construct overhead tubes. Materials to construct this infrastructure is expensive, so the government need to spend a huge of budget to build it. In addition, many people are worried about the safety of sky train when it has never been operated in Vietnam before. They are afraid of accidents that sky trains may cause.
In conclusion, sky train has both advantages and disadvantages but its benefits certainly outweigh its drawbacks. Therefore, this mean of transportation should be encouraged to used for the time being.
