A government’s role is only to provide defence capability and urban infrastructure (roads, water supplies, etc.). All other services (education, health, social security) should be provided by private groups or individuals in the community

Few people are of opinion that government’s should only focus on country’s defence and infrastructer, while all other sectors like education and health should be managed by private entities. I completely disagree with such people, and there are multiple reason due to which I believe so. Government’s cannot part themselves away from providing educational facilities. This can have severe consequences on a society. We all understand that, not everyone can afford to pay the high fees of a private school, and eventually this will lead to more illeteracy. And a surge in illeteracy can result in increased crime rate, and other serious social problems. Moreover, regulatory authorities needs to ensure that the government school’s also maintain a certain level of quality, and students of such schools should have the potential to compete with any other private school student. Similarly, stated owned health facilities are even more important. People believe in this governing system because it promises them that the well off people will be taxed more, and the collected money will be spent on the welfare of economically unstable people. And if these government hospitals will be closed, people will start to lose faith in this democratic system. Furthermore, medical expenses have exponentially grown in the last few years, and there is no logical reason on which any government can close their health facilities. In conclusion, government’s should continue to provide educational and health facilities to the public. And in case, the ministeries are not able to manage it properly, then they can consider to outsource it. But still the state will have to inject tax money, so the public can avail cheaper but quality services.
