The use of smartphones has increased rapidly in the twenty-first century. What are the advantages and disadvantages of smartphones?

Since smartphones have become an indispensable part of our daily lives, many changes have occured. It would seem that most of these alterations have made things easier for us. Therefore, it can be claimed that the discover of this technology is a positive phenomenon. However, as it is seen in the history of humanity, every technological development might cause some unexpected results. On one hand, we cannot deny some evident benefits which smartphones provide such as easily and rapidly access to knowlegde, effective communication etc. Moreover, in the case of any natural catastrophes such as earthquakes, floods, or any emergency such as accidents, getting lost in a forest cellphones can be useful, helpful and maybe life-saving as well. The fact that, smartphones worked very well in the earthquake that happened last year in İzmir. On the other hand, as it is known, there are some problems to be solved. For example, social media addiction and video game addiction nowadays threatens the menthal health of children and young people. [Social media addiction and video game addiction has alarmingly increased among children and young people during the recent years. These bad habits nowadays threatens their menthal health. ] Furthermore, due to VPN and other tools which young people can easily reach, they can connect DarkWeb or similar dangerous areas on the internet. If we cannot cope with these bad situations, we will face to major problems in the future. As a result, there are many advantages and disadvantages of smartphones. But I believe that if necessary precautions are taken these threats in question will be eliminated.
