The pie chart and table information illustrates the main causes of agriculture land degradation and because of this how it was affected three regions in the world in the year 1990.
Overall, over-grazing, deforestation and over-cultivation were the main causes of worldwide land degradation. How this causes impacted in North America, Europe and Oceania, equipped with a large group of islands in the South Pacific including Australia and New Zealand.
Firstly, in the pie chart, over-grazing was the biggest reason for land degradation followed by deforestation and over-cultivation 35%, 30% and 28% respectively. However, other factors accounted only 7%.
Secondly, table shows at what percentage land degraded in three regions. Europe made highest total contribution was 23%. Accounted 9. 8% deforestation and over-cultivation 7. 7% also on the higher side in all areas. 5. 5% land degraded because of over- grazing in Europe. In comparison, it was biggest contributor in Oceania as 11. 3% and zero impact of over-cultivation, as a result, ended up with 13% total land degraded.
