WORLD HUNGER- AN ISSUE STILL TO BE RESOLVED

World hunger is humanities greatest enemy, despite the advancement made in the agriculture sector people around the world still suffer from starvation. This essay will discuss the reasons behind this issue and the possible solutions. Advancement in science and technology has throttled the production of crops and produced them way more efficiently as compared to olden times. The greater yield of fruits and vegetables would logically imply that every man on earth would never starve. This statement is rather false. Due to the increase in population, the demand for food has also increased, and due to that, the cost price of food has also risen. Those who can afford these prices don’t seem to find it an issue, on the contrary, poor people are suffering. The lower class people cannot keep up with these prices. There are also cases where some high-class people hoard food products, thus, affecting the availability of the products. Now, to resolve this issue, some strict rules should be imposed by the government and shop owners. Firstly, the government should instruct the shopkeepers to ration a portion of products for people of the lower class. People should also be advised to buy only the required amount of items and should not be allowed to hoard products. The government should set up places for charity, where people who have extra food can donate at these centres. This will help alleviate the wastage of food and also feed the poor. In summary, factors like inflation, hoarding of goods and wastage of food have been the main causes of world hunger. A little help from people and the government will help ameliorate the condition and hopefully, everyone in the world will go to bed with a belly full of meals.
