It is a general belief that men and women have different capabilities, Not only do they differ in physical strength but they also have different mental abilities and society has already made a list of proper professions for each group. In this essay, I will discuss my reasons for being totally against this idea.
In history, women have been known as a mother and a wife and the only proper jobs for them were to be a nurse, a nanny, a hair or a make-up styler, and a cook. As time goes by, women discovered their interests in other fields like being a pilot, being an astronaute, and being a mechanic. They started to participate in formerly known as " men's sports" like lifting and they gained the courage to get successful in all those fields.
On the other side, men were under the pressure of being strong. They were supposed to work in rigid and dangerous jobs and they should have liked it. However, lots of men love art, they love dancing, painting, being a nurse or a hairstyler, and they must be allowed to follow their dreams. As we all know, men achieved to be highly successful in all these contexts.
As you see, nowadays there are many leading women in politics and science along with many outstanding men in cooking and styling. For instance, Angela Merkel is an extremely successful politician in Germany and of course all around the world. As an example for a man, who achieved his dream, I can name Gordon Ramsey, a British chef, who has opened a string of popular restaurants across the globe.
To sum up, I do not believe that gender makes our interests. People are free to choose their dreams and no one can stop others from chasing them. In a free world, no one can exclude men or women from their beloved professions just because of gender factor.
