First, he was the first to discover platelets. He showed that the unknown so far in the blood was the third type of blood cell. Then it was called platelets. These particles have been observed before, but no one before him has studied them thoroughly. Osler became chief physician at Johns Hopkins Hospital, and later helped establish the university's medical school, so he became the first university professor. He insisted on the interaction between medical students and patients. He wanted the students to learn, watch, and talk with patients to get good results in medicine and treatment. He was also known as a good writer. His textbook was clear and scientifically comprehensive. It quickly became the most popular medical textbook.
