Because of the cosmopolitan structure of big cities, all sorts of people including criminals live in large cities. As a result of this, the rate of crime is very high in crowded cities.
Another problem of large cities is traffic. Due to the high population, traffic jam occurs during rush hour, and people spend 1-2 hours commuting in cities such as Istanbul, Paris and New York. Besides, public transportation is not sufficient in these kind of cities because of overpopulation.
The last problem of big cities is that the cost of living is very high. People spend a huge amount of money for housing, transportation and food. The rents are extremely high especially in cities like Istanbul. The cost of food is also very expensive compared to small villages. Thus, a person needs a lot of money in order to survive in a city.
