How are Communicative Skills being affected by Social Networks?

How are Communicative Skills being affected by Social Networks? pybr9
As easy as the exchange of information, words, news, or anything that someone wants to share with someone. Technology is the new pandemic, it basically applies scientific knowledge, and it is helpful for mainly anything. The new ways of communication, and its relationship with technology has affected the messages accuracy and understanding due to Social Networks. While communicating we develop certain skills such as fluency, the increase of vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar, confidence, body language, etc… but, what if we leave all those skills because instead of interacting with others we decide to share what and how we feel through different apps? The most common way to communicate nowadays is through social media. With that being said I would like you to know how the ability to communicate is more important than texting our words. According to the Netflix documentary: “The Social Media Dilemma”, communication does reach an incredible level, since we can even talk with people from another continent; however, it is more what we lose (in terms of abilities) by maintaining a virtual dialogue through dangerous networks. As you may know, communicative abilities are obtained through the practice of them, they are not a talent. As the saying goes: “Practice makes perfect”. For example; when you keep on solving math problems until you get to the correct answer, after all those times repeating the same process, you keep doing it better and better, and so then, you are a professional mathematician, are not you? It happens exactly the same with communication, it is not an ability you gain immediately; for us to dominate it, we require practice. Social Networks are not the same as Social Media: Social Media is more interactive because of the facility for you to connect with people you are similar to. Social Networks have precise recipients, so it is not scary if one day you watch an advertisement of what you were looking for on the web. Social Media´s goal is to create interaction with your acquaintances, and to meet more people to create friendships; meanwhile, Social Network´s goal is to find the most fruitful contacts for you. Now, are they truly social or individual? They are mostly individual, even if they were created literally for us to socialize. ; the truest answer is that besides uniting us with people, it creates barriers of falsehoods. What we watch on social media is not attached to our reality, just because of the simple fact they include thousands of filters, creating dependance and lack of self esteem. We can not let technology take control of our communication. Yes, for us to become experts we require tons of experience; so why would we leave such a voice virtually exposed, when we can instead grab our experience to become experts. We are owners of the opportunities we have; the opportunities we have in front of us are thanks to our actions and decisions. Can you dream of a world where everybody shouts out their own perspective and gains domination in social media webs, to use them as a tool for our communication, instead of an interactive damage? Well, as Walt Disney once said: “If you can dream it, you can do it”.
