Natural gas used in household and for morining showers cost 20% of our foreign exchange reserves. Air conditioned rooms and electric heaters which although provide comfort cost 2. 5 trillion Rupees in the form of circular debt nearly 40% of our total tax collection. Japanese cars, which with proud we use, are responsible for $2billion loss in the foreign exchange reserves. Similarly, cooking oil and tea are also burden on kitty as they ate dollars. Pakistan should take concrete austerity measures to curb unnecessary imports and to promote indegenious industry.
