LIFE EXPECTANY IS INCREASIN. ADVANTAGE OR DISADVANTAGE X0o28
The world we live in today has a number of human resources. Such resources have contributed a lot towards the society with various inventions and technology, especially to healthcare. However, these technologies can have both positive as well as the negative outcomes in terms of life expectancy, which we will discuss here.
Firstly, talking about how convenient life has been for people with serious illnesses. For example, an engineer who is 25 years old and is diagnosed with cancer at first stage. Therefore, such a disease could be cured easily with chemotherapy. This not only ensured the longevity of life of that person but also prevented the loss of a human resource who could lead to an innovation in science. Secondly, a significant advantage is that improving health facilities can also increase the quality of life of older generations. Moreover, as most of the retired people receive pensions, it can also increase wealth of a person
However, there can be some drawbacks of increasing life expectancy. The first and the foremost being overpopulation. For instance, in a country like India, the density is quite high and if the population keeps increasing, it could also result in over density which can cause diverse problems. Another disadvantage is that the older people are considered to be a financial burden because as a person gets old, health problems cannot be avoided and it might not be possible for all groups of income to afford it.
In conclusion, though such a development can have some drawbacks, the merits outweigh them. The only reason being that a human resource is always capable of contributing towards the economy of a country, until and unless the person has to deal with health issues.
