Nowadays, many cities use video cameras in public to reduce crime rate, which is argued to affect citizen private security. Although this action might have cons, in my view, I believe it has more pros. There are many reasons why people disagree to use CCTV in public. First of all, someone feels uncomfortable when they are tracked, which can affect their mental health, they also feel nervous or worried when they do individual work. Besides that some people take advantage of this, they pretend to put in more cameras, then they use that for personal purposes such as selling someone’s individual photos or videos… On the other hand, we can not deny its benefits. As CCTV in public can monitor everyone, police easily catch criminals and have evidence to arrest violators. Moreover, everyone is under surveillance, which can raise citizen’s awareness and minimize violations of laws and regulations in public places. This solution not only increases safety but also increases work efficiency. Using video cameras instead of police, it also works continuously to bring more efficiency. In conclusion, using CCTV in public brings a lot of advantages not only for citizen but also for the Government.
