Universal Healthcare System and Taxpayer

The key ingredients for a good and comfortable life today are health, wealth and shelter. The absence of even one of them makes the recipe incomplete and hence, makes survival a lot difficult than it already is. However, there is no denying in the fact that people especially the poor, are deprived of at least one of these factors which inturn makes them fully dependable upon the government for aid. This is where the actual problem starts. To begin with, it becomes an obligation of the government to look after the netizens and thier needs so, the authorities have to have a plan to support the underpriviledged. This also means that there would be added financial burden on the government for running a good economy. Therefore, a large amount would have to be allocated for meeting the needs of poor and deprived. In most cases, there is no direct funding but assisstance given in the form of subsidies, cheap credits, employment programs and many more. On the other hand, it is also true that a major portion of government’s revenue consists the taxes paid by people over their incomes and trades. The only reason citizens and residents of any country pay tax every year is to gain government provided services such as healthcare or infrastructure development timely and easily. People get cut a hefty amount from their income annually for their own future benefit. Now, if in such a situation, the people who are above poverty lines or are leading a good life monetarily, are asked to pay higher taxes so that healthcare can be met for the deprived class, this would definitely create objection among masses. This is exactly what government in US is currently facing. An universal healthcare system might be a basic human right and a necessity at present, but funding it from taxpayer money is opposed by many. In my opinion, money collected from taxes shouldn’t be used for this purpose. Although, it is true that taxes are meant for development but an universal healthcare program for meeting health requirements of poor should be the responsibilty of the government and not the people themselves. Higher tax rate is not a solution. Moreover, not every person who is above poverty line has such good income levels that he can meet heavy tax imposements as well as daily ends. This measure can further push more people in the category of poor creating more problems than any good solution. Also even if taxes are required to achieve such system then adjustments should be made by the government from the already pertaining collections. This way not only more people would be satisfied but also more people would be taken care of in financial as well as health concerns. To put it in a nutshell, each human being is equal and is equally important. As much as it is essential to look after the deprived ones, it is also necessary that we do not implicate burden of thier condiions onto others. People should be allowed to willingly help in providing for them and not be forced to pay out in terms of taxes.
