This figure had a growth by 32 million, reaching 201 million in 40 years later. In spite of taking up a small part in 1966, Hispanic and Asia America expanded much faster than other races. Hispanic underwent an increase of 36 million, from 8. 5 to 44. 7 during the period while Asian population was 14. 3 million, ten times as it was in 1966. Black people, which occupied the second largest race in 1966 with 22. 3, dropped to number three in 2006. Other ethnic groups take up the remaining 1. 3 million.
