There are a lot of discussions about whether all university students should study whatever they like or they should only be allowed to study some helpful subjects. It is hard to deny that we should support students to study whatever they desire. However, this is not realistic. I hold the opinion that students should only be allowed to study meaningful subjects. First and foremost, people will generate the idea that we should let students develop as they like, and choose subjects as they wish. Because they think the unwanted subjects would prevent students from paying attention to it. I have to agree that suitable subjects could be selected by learners in an ideal society. We have to face the reality that we live in a world with limited resources. Students will face many problems, such as finding out their interests, and financial issues. Furthermore, if we look at this question from the side of salary and society development, we would agree that only giving students permission to study subjects related to science and technology will benefit both sides. Studying subjects related to science and technology will bring you higher incoming than other ordinary jobs. What's more, with more students in the field of science and technology, not only our society develop better, but our daily life also has been greatly improved. I believe most people already can not live without internet, this should thanks to those people who worked in this area. And the students who learn this would become one of them. In conclusion, I maintain that students should only be permitted to pursue subjects will be benefited in the future.
