TRETMENT OF ANIMALS ON FARMS

Today, animals' treatment on farms is a debatable topic. Unlike what many people say, in my opinion animals are being mistreated. Proponents of animals' rights state that a majority of animals are raised on factory farm so they can not engage in nature. For instance, according to Dr. Kelly L. Williams, of the 291 million egg-laying hens in the U. S. , approximately 95% are raised in small cages. Furthermore, studies suggest that in most factory farms animals are treated in a way that may harm animals emotionally or physically. It can be argued that we have to eat animals’ meats so we shall not complain about their captivity conditions. However, we could raise them in the nature. For instance, my grandfather kindly lets his hens engage with each other in an outdoor and natural space which is not similar to factory farms at all. In conclusion, factory farms should be stopped because of their extreme cruelty. In contrast, small farms should be supported more than factory farms.
