Tourism has increased so much over the last 50 years that it is having a mainly negative impact on local inhabitants and the environment. However, others claim that it is good for the economy. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of tourism and give your own opinion

Over the past 50 years tourism has skyrocketed. This might have happend beacause of the progress in technology. Recently, people that live in cities that hold a lot of tourism had started to feel a negative impact upon their enviorment. In this esaay, i am going to discuss the positive and negative effects that tourism has upon local inhabitants. Firstly, on my opnion, tourism is positive in general. Tourism helps the economy by exsposing local business to a larger amount of people. Moreove, usually people that travel to a different destination practice more shoping. One of the reasons people shop more when they travel is to get gifts to family or friends back home. In addition, the rise in tourism might get the city more exposure and attract international investors. On the other hand, tourism might cause the city to be overpopulated and harm local inhabitants. Cites are usually designed to hold a spescific amount of people. Bigger cities bulid larger infrastructers and larger roads. One example for that would be the city of Amsterdam who's local residents started to complaim about to much tourism and the local athourties cant deal with so much people. Moreover, people form different coulters can misunderstand local values and behave disrespactfully. In sumarry, on my opinion tourism is a rather positive thing that might result cities with more international exspousre which will result in a uprise of the economy. Thought, tourism is not entairly postive beacause it might result in overpopulation and tourists dissrespacting local communities.
