To succeed in a business, one needs to be good at maths. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

The growth and expansion of any venture is a collective contribution of numerous factors. It is often said that being expert in math's would play a prominent role in it. While It could be helpful to an extent, I do not agree that it is the only constituent for the success of business. First, being non-effective with the skill of math's do not measure a company's growth. This is due to the fact there are various other elements which are necessary for it like achieving the primary objective, advertising, marketing, technology, and so on. Consequently, If one is unable to perform mathematic calculations, they will be involved in other matters which could be a crucial decision for the company. For example: One of the classic illustration that could be cited in this case is Rattan Tata, Director of Reliance Industries, who completed only his primary education, but now runs the empire of unlimited products and services. Admittedly, learning mathematics for running a venture could be trivial. There are multiple outsource teams and agencies which could handle the major finances of the company. Moreover, a number of professionals like chartered accountant, Tax officers, production managers are in charge to manage the operations of the flow of finance in businesses. As a result, it does not become essential for owner to have expertise in mathematics. For example: There is ample evidence to suggest that many large scale companies have a separate department particularly for managing money by creating budgets or spreadsheets specifically for future expenses. To conclude, I would concede that having a mathematical knowledge can help in taking wise decisions for businesses, however, it is not a prerequisite for its expansion and growth.
