The use of social media, e.g. Facebook and Twitter, is replacing face-to-face contact for many people in everyday life. Do the advantages of this development outweigh the disadvantages?

Nowadays, people are using social medias such as Facebook and Twitter, consequently, it is reducing their face-to-face connection in real life. While there is clearly a drawback to this, I believe that the merits are more significant. The demerit of using them is that people can lose their precious relationships. The reason for this is that they are always thinking about using them in their free time instead of communicating with a crowd near them. Therefore, their family members, friends, acquaintances at their work and relatives will be furious with them due to the fact that they will think that they are getting ignored from them and they will no longer try to stand beside them. As a result, they will be alone at last and get some mental problems. On the other hand, one of the major advantages is that they will have more knowledge than those communities who do not use such modern technologies. For example, a community who use social medias can immediately know what are going to happen on the world. As a result, they can share them to their family and make their relations stronger. In addition, those technologies can be seen that they are trying to save humans lives due to the fact that all the people around the world have faced Covid-19. They could easily see each other and tell clearly whatever they want through screens even though they are thousands of miles far away. Therefore, they could have saved their lives during that period. In conclusion, the positive aspects are of greater significant than the adverse aspects. Given this situation, it is recommended that modern societies should use those applications to know the daily news of our world.
