The given tables compare the figure for international pupils from four different countries who studied in Canada and the US over two school years.
Looking from an overall perspective, it is evident that there was a great deal of international students who study in the US as compare to Canada. While the number of foreign students in Canada witnessed a noticeably more rise in comparison with the USA.
In 2002, the total number of Chinese and Indian students in Canada stood at 5400 and 2100 individuals respectively, while the toll of pupils with the same origins in the US were 110, 000 and 200, 000. In the following next year, the sum of Chinese students increased by 45% and 6% in Canada and the USA respectively. By contrast, the total number of Indian scholars rose in Canada and reached 2835 students, whereas the US saw 9% decrease.
At the outset, the statistics for Canadian students in the US and American students in Canada were 31, 000 and 5000 respectively and went up by the same rate to 33, 170 and 5450 in 2003. While the total number of foreign pupils in both countries rose, the rate of growth in the USA was almost 2% and rose from 581, 600 to 592, 230 during the period in comparison with the 17% rise in the number of total international students in Canada.
