The graph depicts the overall population of major countries and its dynamics by middle of years from 1950 to 2000. The number of people seems to increase with each year.
Interestingly, Chinese population was at around 570 million people from the start of 1950 and grew rapidly to 1250 million in 2000 – the highest figure in the whole graph, albeit with slight growth rate plateau between 1960 and 1965. Similarly, India’s population grew from 370 million to 1050 million in those 50 years, increasingly. The US was the only country on the graph that did not achieve population of a billion people, although its population grew from 170 million to 270 million, surpassing 200 million in 1967.
