The graph illustrates the entire garbage recovery that Americans produced in million tons and its percentage in the United State over a fifty-one period between 1960 and 2011. Overall, the total rates of the national recycling pumped up significantly in addition to the percentage of recycling as well. To be specific, during the former half period, the amount of trash recycled saw an upward trend from 6 million in 1960 to just under 17 million tons in 1985. Exchanging into the percentage of the whole waste produced, the recovered garbage in 1960 accounted for more than 6% and this number rose slightly to 10. 1%. Regarding the latter half term, the figure for the weight increased considerably and reached its peak at nearby 90 million tons in 2011. Meanwhile, the proportion of the total waste recovery grew by approximately 24% to stood at the end of 2011 at 34. 7%.
