The line graph illustrates teenagers who were at 12-19 aged in the USA state communicated with each other during the three years from November 2006 to September 2009. Overall, at the beginning of the period, email contributed the least to the message of the USA, while calls on cell phones was the most significant communication sector. In comparison, at the end of the period, text messages became the largest imparting segment, and the lowest contribution still was made by email. In November 2006, the percentages of text messages and calls on cell phones were nearly 28% and 35% respectively. The text messages rate experienced a steady but significant rise over the period, peaking to 55% in September 2009. In the meantime, the proportion of calls on cell phones remained constant until 2009 to reach 40%. By November 2006, the communication rate of talk face-to-face and email comprised 33% and 15% respectively. The talk face-to-face level had some fluctuation during the period, after which it returned to the starting point. Teenagers who communicated by email had a steady rise until November 2007, but it dipped significantly to 10% in 2009.
