The first chart below shows how energy is used in an average Australian household. The second chart shows the greenhouse gas emissions which result from this energy use.

The initial chart below illustrates the average Australian household energy utilization and the second chart depicts the amount of greenhouse gases emitted while consuming the energy. Generally, it is calibrated in percentages. Overall, it is evident that the heating consumes more energy. Moreover, gas released by heating is maximum. According to the first pie chart, overall, it is observed that heating consumes almost two-third of the energy with almost half of the energy utilized by heating (42%) followed by water heating(30%). Others contribute 15% of the energy in other appliances and a small proportion of energy is consumed in refrigeration, lighting, and cooling which accounted for 7%, 4%, 2% respectively. On the other hand, heating emits almost half of the greenhouse gases with 32% of the water heating and 15% of the emission in heating. Meanwhile, other appliances emit almost 28% of gases while refrigeration emits 14%. Furthermore, lighting and cooling emit 8% and 3% respectively.
