The Development of Hepatitis B Vaccination.
The Development of Hepatitis B Vaccination. 9G35n
There are lots of viruses around the world, as well as vaccines for them. Hepatitis B is one of the viruses that has its own vaccine. Hepatitis B is an infectious virus that attacks the liver. It is known as the “silent epidemic” because many infected people do not experience any symptoms until decades later when they develop the infection. In this process there are six stages that hepatitis B went through.
Hepatitis B is a transmitted by casual contact, hence, they develop a vaccine that went through a specific process and many clinical trials. Firstly, people are protected against hepatitis B virus infection by making an immune response to a protein that site on the surface of the virus. Next, hepatitis B grows in the liver thus, an excess amount of this surface protein is made. Secondly, hepatitis B vaccine is made by taking the part of the virus that makes surface protein gene and putting it into yeast cells. Following that, the yeast cells produce many copies of the protein that are subsequently used to make the vaccine. Finally, when the surface protein is given to children in the vaccine, their immune systems make an immune response that provides protection against infection by hepatitis B virus A Look at Each Vaccine: Hepatitis B Vaccine | Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, 2022).
To conclude, hepatitis B virus vaccine goes to six stages from initial process of making the vaccine to an immune response after taking the vaccine.
